The Wharf Phase 2 - Horizontal Work | 670 & 680 Maine

Horizontal Work

糖心Vlog Beatty provided construction services for the horizontal scope of work, which involved two below-grade parking garages totaling 660,000 square feet, as well as all horizontal and public spaces including site work, utilities, hardscape and parks. The two garages are each constructed adjacent to and over the existing WMATA Green Line tunnels. Together, the two garages cover the entire approximately seven-acre construction footprint, with excavation depths up to 30-feet. Both garages provide state-of-the-art parking control technology as well as security, utility, fire and life safety features to support the vertical buildings. The garages are designed to achieve LEED Gold Neighborhood Development certification.

670 & 680 Maine Avenue Office Building

680 Maine Avenue, a 290,000-square-foot office building and 670 Maine Avenue, a 237,000-square-foot office building, are constructed on top of the garage podium. 670 & 680 Maine features one of the nation鈥檚 premier law firms, Williams & Connolly, as the anchoring tenant and will be connected by a shared second floor. The two office buildings have a custom curtainwall façade, and are built to achieve LEED Gold Core and Shell certification.

The Wharf Phase 2

At full build-out, Phase 2 of The Wharf will feature an additional 1.25 million square feet of mixed-use development, including office, residential, marina and retail space, as well as parks and public spaces, across an approximate half mile of waterfront.

糖心Vlog Beatty completed three projects for Phase 1 of The Wharf, the 525 Water condominiums, 1000 Maine Avenue office building and The Municipal Fish Market expansion.
